More Than a Treatment: Feeling Cared For at The Fountain This Autumn
As the mornings grow cooler and life settles into its autumn rhythm, it’s easy to put your own needs at the bottom of the list. Sometimes an hour to pause can make all the difference.
At The Fountain, we want you to feel welcome from the moment you arrive. You don’t need to know which facial to book or have the right words to explain what you need. We’ll listen, ask a few questions and help you choose something that suits you.
We take a holistic approach to treatments. That means looking beyond a single skin concern or area of tension and taking time to understand how you’re feeling, what you’d like from your visit and what feels comfortable for you. Some days you might want to focus on your skin. On others, you might simply need a restorative massage and a little quiet.
Our therapists care deeply about the work they do. We want your treatment to be beneficial, but we also want you to feel at ease while you’re here. You can expect thoughtful advice and a friendly welcome, without pressure or judgement.
This autumn, the treatment beds have their duvets ready, and we’re here whenever you need a little time for yourself.

Learning Never Stops
It’s been a busy season of learning and new beginnings for our team.
We’ve welcomed Bella as she starts her beauty therapy apprenticeship, while Charlotte is nearing the end of hers and waiting for her End Point Assessment. She also has another exciting milestone ahead: the arrival of her baby!
Hayley and I have been training in lymphatic drainage massage, which we’re delighted to bring into the salon. Next, we’ll be heading to Professional Beauty at ExCeL for a chance to learn, see what’s new and catch up with others in the industry.
However long we’ve been therapists, there’s always more to learn. It’s one of the things we love about our work, and we look forward to bringing that knowledge and care into every treatment.
Autumn favourites
As the mornings turn cooler, we’re seeing more clients make time for a facial or massage. It’s a lovely season to settle under a duvet, take a breath and enjoy an hour that’s just for you.
Our personalised facials can help when skin feels dry or less comfortable as the weather changes, while a massage gives you space to unwind and ease tension. We’ve also introduced our PHYTOMER Marine Lymphatic Drainage Massage for clients who’d like to try something new.
Whatever you choose, we’ll take time to find out what you need on the day. That’s always been at the heart of treatments at The Fountain.
A New Chapter for Body Treatments
For quite some time we’ve recognised that there was an opportunity to strengthen our body treatment offering.
After extensive research, we’ve chosen to partner with PHYTOMER, a brand renowned for its marine-based expertise and commitment to professional body care.
This month, Hayley and I completed specialist training in PHYTOMER’s beautiful Marine Lymphatic Drainage Massage. This tailored treatment uses gentle, rhythmic techniques to encourage healthy lymphatic flow, helping to reduce water retention, ease feelings of heaviness and leave you feeling lighter, refreshed and deeply relaxed.
We’re also excited to be introducing a range of luxurious PHYTOMER body rituals, including exfoliating and hydrating treatments, allowing us to offer an even more complete body care experience.
Our PHYTOMER Marine Lymphatic Drainage Massage is now available to book with both Clare and Hayley, and we can’t wait for more clients to experience this wonderfully restorative treatment.
Don’t Leave Booking Until the Last Minute
One thing we notice every summer is that diaries fill up very quickly.
Evening appointments, Saturdays and pre-holiday appointments are often booked weeks in advance, particularly for spray tans, pedicures, facials and massage treatments.
If you know you have a holiday, wedding, special occasion or simply want to maintain your regular appointments, we would encourage you to book ahead where possible.
Looking Ahead
As September draws to a close, we’d like to thank all our lovely clients for the warmth and support you’ve shown us this year.
Whether you’ve been visiting us for years or have only recently found The Fountain, we’re grateful you choose to spend your time with us. We hope you always feel welcome, listened to and able to relax when you’re here.
As we move into October, we’ll keep learning, sharing what we discover and taking care to make every treatment feel right for the person having it.
We look forward to welcoming you in this autumn.

Autumn skincare and wellbeing Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my skin feel drier in autumn?
Cooler air and central heating can leave skin feeling less comfortable, even if your usual routine worked well through summer. If your skin feels tight, dry or sensitive, we can help you review what you’re using and choose a facial that suits it now.
Which facial should I book for autumn?
You don’t have to work that out alone. Our Environ and Natura Bissé facials can be tailored to your skin and what you’d like to achieve. If you’re unsure where to start, book a skin consultation and we’ll talk it through together.
Is autumn a good time for a peel?
Autumn can be a good time to discuss professional exfoliation or an Environ Cool Peel, particularly if dullness or uneven texture is bothering you. We’ll check your skin and current routine first, then advise whether a peel is appropriate and how to care for your skin afterwards.
Do I still need SPF when summer is over?
Yes. Daylight and UV exposure don’t disappear when the weather turns cooler. We can help you find daily sun protection that feels comfortable alongside your autumn skincare.
Can I book a massage just to relax?
Absolutely. You don’t need to have a particular problem to benefit from time to unwind. Tell us how you’re feeling on the day and we’ll tailor your massage to you.
What is the PHYTOMER Marine Lymphatic Drainage Massage?
It’s a gentle, marine-inspired body treatment for anyone looking for a lighter style of massage and time to relax. If you’re unsure whether it’s suitable for you, get in touch and we’ll be happy to talk it through.
